i also like and have the toyo open country at3 on my gx460. i like the latest and greatest and this tire is 1-2 years newer than the falken wildpeak. it also fits what i was looking for in an all-terrain tire - p-rated, not too heavy, nice tread design, silica compound in the rubber and being 3pmsf rated.
Ready to move on from KO2's...but to what?

I had P rated Toyo OC ATII and ran those for 30k and they had plenty of time in the desert w/sharp rocks and they never had any issues.
I recently upgraded to bigger LT Falken AT3W as I got a smoken deal on them used. There is a significant difference in not only the look but the sound and feel. These are much louder on the road than the Toyo, but that is to be expected with a more aggressive sidewall. I can also "feel" the tread when driving slowly which I never noticed with the Toyo.
Overall, I am happy with both, just wish the Falkens were slightly quieter. One thing I was surprised with was I did not lose much, if any, MPGs when I switched to the bigger, heavier tire.

The KM3 recommendation could have used some more details though, LOL. I had the stock BFG MT's on my Rubicon, and never had any trouble with them. Bought a second set when the original set wore out. But I'm not really looking for an MT tire these days.

I just ordered a set of these. I’m replacing Falken Wildpeaks (which have been flawless).
This is my first 4WD truck and they are my first AT tire, but I'm extremely impressed so far. I went with P rating because I'm not going to be doing a ton of crawling and I spend a LOT of time in snow up on the mountain and the additional compound softness is worth it to me. I will absolutely buy another set, slightly wider, when the time comes (I went stock sizing for now).

This echos my experience with the Grabber ATX in E load. Great traction off road, in snow and in rain. They ride very well on pavement for an E load as well.
*** I’ll add that I took a hard look at the falken wildpeaks, but ultimately the number of complaints of steering wheel shimmy and not being able to get the wildpeaks to balance made them a hard pass for me.
ZERO issues or steering wheel shake with the ATXs and they have been solid off road and on road from 18-38 psi.

Stay with the KO2's in OEM size, but go with the 6 ply this time instead of the 10 ply. (10 ply is too harsh for a 4500 lb truck IMHO) Oh, & 1 other thing, Are you sure that the shop that is using the Road Force Balancer knows How to use it properly ? I'm not trying to be a smart ass with this question, but Toyota Wheels are the hardest to balance because of the large center hub diameter, & there are special inserts for RF balancing machines to fit the Toyota wheels perfectly.

I put Grabber ATX's on mine a week after I bought it. Loved them. Then after lifting it I decided to go to 285's. Went with the Wildpeak At3's in the SL load range. Probably my worst tire experience in probably 3 dozen sets of tires I have purchased. Spin balance 4 times, 2 road force. Truck shook like a total POS. Took them off and went with c load BFG's. Just as bad. And that's usually my go-to tire. 3 Days later put on Toyo AT3's. Smooth and quiet when they were new. Still smooth but my alignment is a bit off and they chop. it's been like 12-15k miles now and I still like them. They don't hold a candle to the ATX's in the snow though. I will probably go back to those when it's time to buy tires again.

I got rid of my KO2's C rated. Hard to balance, wore out at 39000 miles, and loud as they wore. Did have a nail in one tire as well, on the sidewall which Discount Tire wouldn't fix.
Right now I have Hankook Dynapro AT2 RF11's in 285/70R17 E rated. RF11 is a new version in 2020 with better traction advertised. I was worried about E but turns out not a problem with ride quality. Reasonable price, smoothest AT I have ever owned, very quiet, and snow and wet traction is supurb. Not as aggressive looking at the KO2 but I don't care in the least, the ride comfort is most important. Gas mileage is about the same even though they are heavier than the C load KO2s. I think the biggest hit to my MPG is my lift, wind resistance.

I was in the same boat last July. I liked the KO2's, but wanted to try something a little more aggressive.
I ended up with the Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3. I typically hit trails with a friend that has a FJ with 35' tires and is also running the ATZ P3's. He had no complaints and so I went off his recommendation, which i am glad i did.
With that said, there are a ton of people in LV that are running the Wildpeak AT's and seem happy with them. If i wanted to stay with a AT, it would have been between another set of KO2's or Wildpeaks.

Nope very good on dirt , just when our streets get wet after 200+ days of no rain well you know , ice rink ! Honestly any of the at tires you can't go wrong ! I just like Cooper & if not them I would look at Continental great At tire

I have 60k on mine and still look good. Amazing on trails/rocks, good in snow and on sand, decent in rain. Still quiet on the road and no balancing issues.

I just love the way they look.....and they're supposedly a pretty good mud terrain. Don't have much more detail for you hahaha
