Really high end electrical load management... Whats out there?

So I like electrical... I've done a bunch of projects and try to spend time doing write-ups and helping others here too.

That said, I have some old school habits.

Typically I still make my own little switch panel using switches that I like and I make a small thingy with fusing and relays for power protection and distribution.

It can be accomplished many different ways... Those things generally look something like this and can often times still results in some wiring challenges.

I have also seen people take a bit cleaner approach by integrating the relays with the fusing in something like this...

As I look more at higher end projects I start to see a trend towards better load management, programming, and control...

I have seen people here have used the SwitchPro and I really like it, but it got me curious as to other high end options.

Some of the most elaborate stuff I see generally comes from race cars, race trucks, trophy trucks...

What else is out there? Who makes the big boy toys?

I've always been a little surprised public service (PD, Fire, EMS) equipment isn't used more in our worlds.

The two products that come to mind are Feniex Switches. They have a highend bluetooth and a lower end, mini version:

That's literally a perfect post... Never seen that before, never heard of it, and never though to check how public service might build out their rigs. Ill have to keep a better eye on that market.

Keep these types of suggestions coming.

I see a big re-wire project coming up in my future.

Not to deter you from doing some revamping of your wiring. I'm sure, judging by your attention to detail and obvious wiring knowledge, you're already aware, but just for information sake and the spreading of knowledge... Sometimes, newer isn't always better. Relays, fuses and switches are a solid performer and easily diagnosed and repaired in the field should a component break or fail. All of the options mentioned in this post so far (spod, switch pros, etc) use circuit boards, which are nearly impossible to diagnose and field repair.

Regardless, good luck with your revamp. I'm sure it will be quite quite clean and space efficient once all wrapped up!

You make an excellent point... and I agree with you.

There are a few things I want from this systems that I can't really have without a logic board / controller.

That said, I was already thinking to add a redundant secondary circuit for my critical item(s).

I was thinking of taking a dual relay, and on a single throw mechanical switch, one would open the circuit of the SwitchPro, and the other would power the load (ham radio). Redundant alternate path for power, no chance of back feeding the switchpro.

My goal is to buy something that would be worthy of the application. Police, Fire, BJ Baldwin... if they use it, probably good enough for me.
