Rear 120v ac outlet

I'm wondering if anyone has tried using a 1 horsepower air compressor from the 400W outlet in the back. I have a 1hp peak, 1/2hp nominal compressor that would be great to carry in the 4Runner. Google-fu says 1 hp is ~750 watts, so I don't want to blow a fuse using this:

SENCO PC1010 1 HP 1 Gallon Oil-Free Hand-Carry Compressor

Has anyone tried anything like that before? Otherwise, I may resort to a small emergency 12v compressor for re-airing my tires.

That's what I was afraid of. The label says 4 amps, so zoom, right over the 400W max. Although, it's rated at 1/2 hp nominal...

Is there a circuit breaker for the outlet, or a fuse? Do you happen to know?

Standard cheap 12v "cigarette lighter" compressors suck. Get one that connects directly to your battery.

Thanks for the advice! I was really hoping the one I have would work. I may try my current one first anyway if there is a breaker and not a fuse. I'll do some research....

Why not get a real inverter?
