Rear Air Suspension---PSI ?

I have just had my rear suspension air bags disconnected from the compressor on my 03 TR4 limited, the air bags have now been inflated manually....I can't seem to get the correct air pressure in for a "stock" ride....it is still quite bumpy...does any one know what the correct PSI in the bags should be for normal height and good ride?

It's not really a common practice so I don't think your going to find magic number. Try searching in the service manuals that are in a sticky at the top of the 4th gen subforum. It might say what the PSI in the bags is.

Thanks TDRCal....You were right no magic number....so I went to see a friend who had the same 4Runner and size tires....we measured from the ground to the wheel well ...36inches....then inflated the air bags to get that height....it rides pretty good now.

I'm in a similar situation as you - I have recently completely disconnected my Rear Air Suspension (Height Control) due to the sensors failing and the compressor basically wearing out. My mechanic has installed hoses with fittings and a valve so that I can manually inflate/deflate the air bags (just like filling up my tires).

When I manually fill the air bags, I measured it to anywhere between 54 - 58 PSI for a stock ride.
