Anyone order the Durasolid axle bearing puller tool lately? Timmy the Toolman stated in his youtube video description (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVhSDnw2ugo) that some people are complaining about it not fitting over the bigger area of the axle. Was this resolved? Thanks.

I have had mine for a couple of years now... it does require some extra length bolts. never had any trouble with mine.
where have you seen the complaints?
if you want I can post some pictures but... I don't think it has any stamps on it.

This is Timmy and it has not been resolved. I tried to contact the company twice to share my concerns with the tool after a couple people told me about the issues they had with it. They did not respond. I even mentioned that the video we made features their tool and it would be prudent for them to respond and acknowledge there's an issue with their tool and promise to fix it or I couldn't recommend people purchase their tool anymore. And, they blew me off. I also mentioned the video has 70k views but they either didn't get the message through their internal email system or they don't give a shit. So, that's why I put that disclaimer in the video description because I don't want to recommend a tool that has serious issues. It's too bad because I really like my Durasolid tool but something obviously changed with their manufacturing and/or their supply source for the pipe material. Basically, the inner diameter of the pipe doesn't fit over the widest section of the axle. Wish I had better news but that's where things stand with this tool.

I just use a pair of vicegrips... hasn't failed me yet in 4 axle seal repairs.

I think you've been smoking a little ganja Jerod. If you're able to pull off retainers, ABS tone rings and press out the axle shaft from the bearing with a pair of vice grips, you must be a wizard.
Now, if you're just talking about replacing axle seals and nothing else, that's a whole other topic that's been debated heavily on this forum. When I do an axle seal job, it always includes replacing the bearings and making sure the newly designed Toyota seal mates well with the inner retainer.

Just realized he was talking about the bearings and not the seals lol! Nevermind then.
I tried moving the retainer just a little bit once, I was not successful. I just have the local machine shop do that part for me, only $60 and he does the whole deal.
I agree about changing the old bearings too. Unless you are one of the lucky ones like me that has issues with the new seal design and how it seats with the retainer... I'm on the "flipped" design and it has held up for 6 months now. Hoping that's the end of it.

Those look like nice designs. They eliminate the need for a bearing splitter to remove the ABS tone ring and inner retainer. I'd get that $140 one. Looks like it will work well. Maybe message the seller and make sure if he knows it works for 3rd Gen 4runner and 1st Gen Tacomas.

Although I used the same attachment like you did Tim to pull of the abs ring.
