interesting.....I am behind schedule....went and picked up my 20 ton press today. it was all in 2 boxes one smaller than I expected, but the main frame was about 5+ feet long and less than 10 inches wide ( box). I asked the guy....hey...the display is wielded across the top beam and would not fit in a box this size...
he said....yep that's the display model...they don't come any different than this ( the box version)
isn't that like a bit of false advertising ?

I remember I had to assemble mine but I could have sworn it came in one big box. Maybe they changed something. Mine bolted all together and I found some of the base supports to not fit all that well so I had to do some filing out of the bolt holes to get things to line up better. But, after going through the pains of assembling the damn thing, it has been an awesome tool to own no doubt. I've used the crap out of mine - 12 rear axle seal jobs, 3 fronts wheel bearing jobs, and lots of bushings replacements. For the price point, you can't beat this press.

Rotated my 5 tires last night and found my drivers side leaking....again!!! It's been about 2 years since I did it last...so I'm ordering that press kit now and getting the press today...anyone in the Pa area I'll be doing these now!!

assembled my press last night, just waiting on parts. watched the videos again, so its kind of burned into my brain. My son (36 years old) will help with the press work, so might have him watch them when hes bored at night

Ah that's a bummer. I recommend trying to flip the retainer, some of us unlucky ones get to keep doing this job over and over. On my third repair on the passenger's side is 3 years, I flipped the retainer and so far so good.

aside from rear wheel bearings..i got so much to do on this truck
block heater...now valve cover gaskets...just found that out yesterday my valve cover is leaking at the back half moon
I have to figure out a way to make my roof rack take the weight..and I want to change all my fluids . ive got a iffy ball joint
and a sound system that died a few days ago and some burned out dash bulbs
otherwise this is my favorite rig....but....why now

im gong bat shit crazy trying to figure out how to make the move and get my truck in shape

I'd certainly put off the valve covers, no real harm in them leaking as long as its just a little bit.

Out of the fluids I'd change the oil and trans fluid over everything else. Obviously you will have to do the rear diff for the seals.

Skip the sound system. You can do the dash bulbs in 30 minutes.

If you stop by vancouver I can do your ball joints if you want to risk driving this far. I have the tools. An hour each provided they arent rusted to hell. Maybe we can trade. I need a white driver side fender if there's one in Oregon, I think there are a couple down there or in Washington.

It is what it is...before when I worked in a shop the press wasn't a big deal...now I got to buy one but I'd rather work at home than those crappy shops any day...I didn't know about the flip the race until I found the guys who figured it out on here...so it will be flip side up for this one...funny thing is I did the passenger side one at the same time and it doesn't leak!!

They changed to a bolt together design (grey) from the old welded ( orange )
set up. ? Wish they would move lower center "support" to the end(s) so you can get a full press.

the one on display was fully welded and was silver/gray

but tis all gonna work out

my abs rings are not gonna rust...….
so far behind schedule...pulled my axles today...and seals were obviously shot..lots of oil on the abs rings and pass side had lots of slop in the bearing and just starting to weep
hopefully I can do the press work tomorrow and put it back togther

got it all back together, well almost, still need to bleed the brakes, but my son and family went to the coast
kind of slow doing all the presswork by myself

Well, how do I say this. First off, there's a lot of truth with the saying, "You get what you pay for." I'm not so concerned with the bearings, retainers and ABS tone rings. What concerns me is the seal.

Right again in these seals!! Got another two kits from Marlin Crawler, and then a set of OEM Toyota seals on order. Damnit!!
