I recently upgraded my brakes to the 5th gen setup - centric calipers and rotors, oem pads, stainless steel lines and topped off with motul fluid.
3/4 went in fine without any problems except the damn driver rear has been causing me issues. To make a long story short, didn't loosen up the drum shoe or w/e it's called and had to buy new shoe for it. We loosened it when we installed it, could rotate it by hand freely, put tire on and rotated tire by hand and it moved freely.
Took truck off lift, drove and the rotor was getting stuck rotating and made a distinct popping? Noise. Immediately put it back on lift, loosened some more and tried rotating by hand and no issues. Drove truck again, same issue, except it would barely go. I could have truck in D foot off pedals and it not move.
On the lift for the 3rd time and loosened shoe again and now it seemed to be fine - wheel moved freely and rotor not sticking.
Now, I get a random popping sound again. Hit a bump and it goes away. Hit another bump, it comes back. Parking brake barely holds truck now. Luckily I don't used it often.
Now, when we installed the tire back on, it seemed like we had to get that on precisely or else that stuck rotor would come back.
I took it in for a balance and alignment and shop said the reat is making the popping or clicking noise and can't seem to figure out what it is.
So I need help. Wtf is it? It's driving me crazy. Any thoughts or ideas?
