Rear cargo box thread?

Beats me, I even have a shovel mounted inside the tailgate that clears the handles. I'll remeasure it tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure its almost a square. I could be wrong I've slept a few times since I built it.

Seems right to me ... the interior measurements (that's what I had handy) for each of the two drawer segments of the main storage on mine is 37 3/8D x 18 1/4W x 9 5/8H

Ok, I measured again this morning. Yes, 37.5" deep and 39" wide. It is 8.5" tall. That depth does not include the handles or shovel mount, so you could easily go to 38-39" if you don't have anything mounted on your liftgate.
for anyone looking for drawer slides at any size! great price for 36" 250lbs slides under $50. Basically the whole length of storage box. I just ordered 34" drawer slides so i can have a 5" pocket for spare cv axle, and other spare parts only.

I can vouch for that company. I used their slides for my trailer build and they are very nice and strong.
Used the 500 and 250 lb slides.

What do you suppose that Box weighs? Not that I'm splitting hairs just want to do the same but keep the overall 4runners weight down.

I would estimate the empty box and drawers to weigh about 60 to 70 pounds.
Very nice. Glad to hear good review. I went with 34" @250lbs. I think it will be plenty. I would of loved the locking ones. But so expensive.

Plus you can edit the pictures there and make them a reasonable size, try 600 for the largest dimension. Otherwise they are enormous because for some reason this forum doesn't automatically resize pictures.

Post them from Imgur as a "huge thumbnail" to get a good size for the forum. Then you still have the original on Imgur as necessary.

Little closer look to how the High-Lift is mounted and the 3/4 wood protecting the amp and subwoofer! The mounts for the High-Lift are from SS.
I used these rubber latches I got form West Marine to secure the drawers from sliding out when your on a decline. Before one hit me right in the stomach lmfao! These are the same latches that some expensive coolers use.
They work perfectly. I don't care about not having a LOCK on them. Lets be honest. If anyone wanted to get inside, wood is not the strongest anti-thief lol.
Now for the drawer handles. I used simple string. Cheap, light weight and works perfectly!
TRED 1100 fit perfectly sideways. When going on a camp trip. I throw them on the roof rack and throw the cooler on top of the box.
More of the protection form things sliding into the audio system.
So the drawers are 34 inches long. Each drawer has slots for dividers. However you want it. Removable also. Left drawers holds simple camping stuff, baby wipes and what not. Right side hols the recovery stuff and more.
Below the drawers. There is a 3/4" space. So you can basically have a 34" board under each slide total of 2 boards. Which you can slide out, and put it on top of the drawer. Making it into a, cutting food station. And the other one can be used for a simple work bench.
Piano hinge, back opens when there is nothing on top. But don't worry...
Because just tilt the seat back, and you have access to spare part compartment. Its small, but it hols my spare CV, two spare outer tie rods and a spare LBJ. There is a small wood that separates the spare parts from jamming into the drawer slides. Which is just tightly pressed in there and can be removed at any time.
