rear control arm bushings

the rears are bad on my truck. i've seen people buy the poly tuff sets. i know nothing about them. are they good, great, bad, what? anyone here have them? new OE arms are 410 for 4. are these poly tuff bushings a better option than shelling out 400 for new ones? i need input. i need to fix this problem.

Did you replace rear uppers as well? I know they are captive.

They fit perfectly! The only thing I had a problem with was the panhard bar bushings. I just cut them in half to make them like the rest of the bushings since they send them as a 1 piece bushing.

I did all 5 arm bushings. The uppers are waayyyy easier than the lowers.

Uppers are so easy. Just push the rubber out and put the greased poly in

bought the polytuff bushing kit. now I have to buy another set of control arms so I have them ready to swap with minimal down time.

I have a cheap set of both upper and lower control arms that I used on the truck while installing poly bushings in my arms. I don't need them any longer. Let me know if you are interested in purchasing them for the same reason.

Just out of curiosity, was that up on a jack? I'm thinking I might need to replace mine (231k miles OEM I think), but not sure how to test them. My back end gets...squirrelly, so I'm hoping I can reach under there and see if they wiggle like that.

It's not really stiff, but it feels tighter and not all over the place. IDK how to describe it very well haha

That isn't jacked up, no. That being said, if there's tension in your control arms due to the way the axle happens to be sitting, you might not be able to move it like I am there.

The best way to check the condition of the bushings would be to just remove the bolts and inspect them visually. Both of mine were completely separated and it drove exactly as you'd expect at highway speed

I put whiteline polys in my rear links and it gave it a more "tighter tolerance" feel & less felt sway on the highway but definitely not a stiff feeling.

I picked up a used pair of rear lowers today. Look at the photo. My truck's arm is on the bottom. Look at the bushings. My truck is an 01. The top one I was told is from an 01. I've never seen them like that. They are solid and intact. Any one know what year truck had bushings like this? They are far more hefty than the lower one.

My '98 arms were like the lower one. Hopefully, there is no metal ring on the upper one. I'm intrigued.
