Rear defroster not working

So I noticed my rear defroster isn't working anymore. I checked my fuses, and they are fine. I didn't see any breaks on the defroster grid. Any ideas?

is the dash light coming on?
does the rear wiper work?


try rolling the window down, then back up.

Dash light isn't coming on, and the rear wiper still works. I have rolled the window up and down, but it didn't help

Try popping off the rear panel and checking the actual wire connection to the window. Mine broke/popped off at some point. Same symptoms: I push button no lights no defrost but everything else works.

Both tabs broke off the window
i was told i could just resolder them to the window.

has anyone run into this problem and if so how did you fix it?

That is exactly what happened to mine. I never fixed it as I never really have the need to defrost that back window though. I would try to figure out a root cause as to why they broke off though before I solder them back together. I dont like rear defrost anyway. I had a friend who used it and the back window exploded. I think their have been a couple threads here recently about it happening too.
