rear diff problem

I own a 2002 4runner, I went ahead and drained the diff fluid to replace but the fill drain plug is totally stripped and rusted, for an emergency can i fill the diff thru the breather plug? thanks guys

Yes you can.
My 2000 without elocker is 2.6 quarts.
With elocker 2.9 quarts.

Now you know to always make sure you can remove the fill plug before draining.

thanks, I also did the breather mod and just filled it thru the hose

If you know anyone that welds, have them weld a nut to the stripped out fill plug. Then you can get it off to replace it.

Let yet I would like to get it off for next time I change the fluid, it was a total pain to refill thru the breather lol
