Rear door not being recognized as open

So when I open the rear right door the truck does not recognize it at all. The lights also dont work on that door when any door is open. I tested the wires at the light and I have 12v but the ground is not there. I am wondering if these 2 issues are related and how I would go about trouble shooting them.

Probably related. Check the switch on that door. Contacts may be dirty or, it could be a faulty switch. Not sure on the T4R but, a lot of cars have constant power to the switch and only when the door is open does it make ground.

Make sense?

Yes I did remove the switch but it looks fine I guess I can order one and swap it that might resolve the issue.

It’s sounds like you have a meter, use it to ohm out that switch and see if it makes out breaks the circuit, would save you time and money vs throwing parts at it
