Rear Door Problems

I just purchased a 97 4runner. Upon looking at it while at the dealership the rear door opened no problem. The next day when I brought it home I couldn't open it to save my life. When lifting up on the latch it feels as if it isn't catching on anything, the handle comes very easily almost too easily. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and knew how to fix it or if I was doing something wrong. Also the rear window only rolls about 3/4 of the way down (about 3-4" left to go) then stops. Didn't know if that was a "sticking" problem and maybe I needed to lube something. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Are you making sure that u hit the unlock button twice before trying to open the rear door? as for your window not going down all the way sounds like the motor is going, but try switching out your battery or even try using the key to lower the window hope something worked

I've tried the key at the rear door and the window does the same thing. But I will go out and try hitting the unlock button twice, I've hit that thing about a million times and even tried using the key and it wouldn't open, but I'm gonna go try again. Thanks for the input.

Make sure your window is all the way up, hit the auto unlock twice, use the key(turn it both ways several times) all the way to the right should open it.

As for your window only going down 3/4 of the way - it sounds like the window is off the track or you might have snapped a support holding the window on the track. This happens to my Lexus, you might need to take the panel off and reset the window.

Well I just went out and tried hitting the unlock button twice, already tried the key, I did notice when using the key the rear lock was really stiff. I'm gonna go back out and fiddle with it and see about taking the back panel off and checking out the window. Thanks a lot guys.

*Edit* Well I tried everything I could think of, rolled the window down then back up to make sure it was all the way up, trying to unlock it with the key didn't work either. It feels as if something isn't connected. I couldn't get the hatch off, but did check the window and it seems to be in their solid so I don't think it's off track or anything. Either its sticking or something is broke? Looks like I'll have to get it into a shop. Thanks for all the help guys.
