Rear Drums Auto-Adjusting Too Tight

If I HAD put new shoes on I would have had to buy a THIRD set. And I'm not messing around with cheap aftermarket crap the way I guess you guys are:

No doubt you do everything right the first time. Some of us aren't so clever.

The NAPA brand seemed pretty good for ~$20. Much better than the Duralast, looked thicker and the castings were cleaner. Made in USA…..

I guess if I had good $72 shoes I'd clean them up. Did that work ok? Seems like once they get to a certain degree of soaked they would be hard to resurrect.

Once the first new axle seal failed I knew it was time to do the bearings too. I just completed the entire job yesterday. Did both sides and put on new OEM shoes. Hopefully I'll never have to take the damn drums off again. But as I was finishing up, the friend who was helping me bleed the brakes said I have a leak down problem, pedal continues to sink towards the floor, it's not bad, the brakes work very well. It's likely the master cylinder but we'll have to see. Luckily those parts are not too expensive on the pre-traction control models like mine:
