Rear drums - what needs to be done here?

:biggrin1: ^^ I'm surprised you didn't mention Moog lower ball joints...LOL.

BTW - All oil seals were replaced / and on both axles....never do half the job.
Name brand seals, should last just fine / many seal failures are from operator error, during press fit installation - OEM or not. My mechanic is a retired Air Force mechanic, with 25 years service / I know the job was done exactly right.

I bought my Gen3 T4R in January, fully certified & E-tested / my dealer friend, treated me more than fair (aka Free repairs for necessary Inspections), prior to vehicle getting ownership changed over & 4x4 plated.

PS - and I just bought NGK Iridium plugs, for my v6-3.4L / not the DENSO (OEM).
- probably all made in the same factory anyway

I had 3 decades of my Eng. career, at TIMKEN Bearings / Koyo is still a very solid replacement to Toyota brand/spec.
- in fact, we had 2 Toyota product lines (percision grind), in our Canadian Manufacturing facility
- these Timken Unipack Tundra bearings, when into an OEM carboard box / marked Toyota, with a huge final markup
OEM - sometimes essential, often times NOT !!
- often there is a good choice in quality competetor brands, with much better price points &/or delivery

I would use Koyo in a heart beat. Koyo is OEM for many bearings on our trucks including the tension idler on the timing belt. OEM is the best for some things, but it is overhyped on this forum just because people don't know what aftermarket parts can be trusted.

Can I rely on that Koyo number? Did you dealer source it or did you?

I recently paid $69 and about $8 for oem from Camelback (no tax, free shipping). What were you charged for Koyo bearing and seal?

That's for one side, wheel bearing and axle seal? Besides the ABS ring, what other parts would I need for the job? Can I get the parts to do the rear axle seals for under ~$250?

For one side:
1- bearing (I found KOYO bearing that where EXACTLY like OEM for $30 ea)
1- retainer (reuse the outer one) OEM around $12
1- c-clip ( it might get a little bent, cheap enough to replace) OEM $4
1- axle seal OEM $15
1- outer seal/oring (also cheap enough to replace OEM $3

That's it. Should be able to reuse the ABS exciter ring (save about $50) as everything is pressed off. My prices were from memory but I think I'm pretty close.

Wow, that is a good price compared to Toyota OEM. Koyo bearings are top quality!
