The housing should be the same unless you have the Elocker! You are just swapping the housings and not the diffs right!

R Rod New member Feb 27, 2011 #3 I wish mine came with the e-locker....but yes im gonna reuse my diff and axles. Do you know if the axles are the same between 4x4 and 4x2?

R Rod New member Feb 28, 2011 #5 I found a 4x2 complete rear end from a private party as the same price as a 4x4 housing from a wrecking yard. That's why I was wondering if they were the same.
