Rear end links spinning while tightening

Here i am 4am, just finishing up a nearly 12 hour install of my ICON stage 2 lift....by myself. All was going well until i disconnected the end links from the rear sway bar to drop the axle to install the coils. They came off fine, but now that i am tightening back on, once they get snug, the whole bolt is moving with the nut. Obviously there is no were to hold the other end of the bolt as it's internal of the link. Anyone else run into this? What are my options? I've got 60k miles on these, i doubt they've gone bad already!

Remove them. :eyebrows:

I use a pair of needle nose vice grips to grab the boot between the link and sway bar.

I’ve definitely thought about it. Its my daily and I do travel in it, not sure how I feel about traveling over 70mph without sway bars.

Yea I did that and it did work, however, it starts tightening down on the vice grips and I can’t tighten the nut down flush with the sway bar. It is supposed to be flush right?

Haha. Yeah, I dont suggest it.

I dont remember how it looks, but does it have an Allen key socket so you could stick an allen key in there and tighten with an open wrench?

I second the allen key idea, I had to do that with my driver front when I did work on it. It was kind of a "oh shit" moment when it wouldn't tighten down. I am embarrassed to say that it took me about 30 minuets of trying to get it to work before I noticed the allen socket.

Aaah! I see it now. Wow! It’s hidden so don’t feel too embarrassed. Lol.

It's on the end... insert the allen key and then the wrench goes over the nut (and allen key).
Doing this will prevent the ability to use a socket of course...
