I was told to use Liftsupport PM3430-W for upgrade weight rear hatch struts. Will be installing the Gobi ladder as well which I why I upgraded the struts. Ladder is still a few months out on backorder. Struts are an easy install and fit great. Highly recommend. 2008 4Runner Limited with spoiler here.

Tagging in, a little late to the party. I’m on my original hatch struts on my 08 and have needed replacing, especially struggles in winter. I’ve been holding out till my GOBI ladder gets here (ordered in May) but need to just get them ordered now.
I have added a spoiler to my hatch last year and just added sound some deadener to my rear hatch 2 weeks ago and it’s struggling even worse now. Have to give it a helping hand to get all the way up most days. This is the exact info I’ve been looking for, thanks for starting the thread.
