Rear hatch latch problem.

Hey guys, I have a 99 SR5. I have an irritating problem. If I use my remote to unlock the doors and I open the doors right away, they all stay unlocked. If I open the rear hatch first and I don't open one of the other 4 doors, after 30 seconds or so, they relock themselves. I've been looking around the forum but can't find a solution. Any help would be appreciated.

I have tried, with no success, to disable the auto-relock feature. I never noticed on my t4r that it re-locked if only the hatch was opened.

*Edit - I just experimented on my 2000 SR5 while running errands. My auto-relock did not actuate after opening (and closing) my rear hatch only. I don't know if your '99 has a different system, or if you truly do have a problem with your system.

Does your interior light illuminate when the hatch is opened? If not, it may be tied to that. Otherwise you may be able to lengthen the timeout interval via the instructions in the link above.
