Rear hatch rock lights

About a month ago someone posted a step by step process of installing rock lights to the rear hatch panel wired to the dome light panel. I order the lights and thought I saved his instructions but can’t find them. Anyone who made the post? It involved the install and drinking a lot of beer! Thanks for any help.

How much room is behind the lift gate panel? how deep/thick can the rock lights be?

This Is how I did it. It's powered by the rear domelight. It's off when the dome light is off, on when the dome light is on, etc. I'm happy with it. The only thing I would change is to run it off the second battery instead.
