Rear LCA remove/replace confirmation needed.

Want to remove some rust and repaint my rear LCAs (trailing arms or whatever they're called). What's the best way to remove and replace? Do I need to get the rear wheels off the ground (jack stands) or can I just chock the wheels up and go for it? Do I need to involve another part back there?Don't want the axle to go flying backwards or something ridiculous like that : )

Thanks as always.

Just jack up the rear via the rear axle and support the FRAME not the axle on jack stands. Remove the LCA bolts and use the jack to put the axle in the "sweet" spot for removing the LCA. Install is going to be the reverse of that.
