So I've been chasing this odd rear vibration issue. I had the vehicle inspected by 3 places while I was sick/it was too cold to tear into it myself.
I finally felt good enough to go and investigate myself. I looked online for a bit and the OEM LCA bushings (rear) have an interesting design it appears. The metal sleeve through the center is equal to the arm width. While the rubber portion of the bushing, does not match the width of the sleeve. This has me unsure of my findings while testing the LCA bushings...
I can pry, using a 10" pry bar, mildly and I get;
No movement vertically.
I get a fair amount of movement horizontally.
I get movement when I angle the bar and do a "twisting" to the arm of both axis.
My vibration's were almost non-existent this weekend on a nice fresh smooth section of the freeway. This also seems consistent possibly with the LCA bushings causing issues over less flat terrain. However, the design of the bushing, seems to leave little support on the edges.
Any feedback? It seems as though the rear control arms are a ***** to get bushings for as well. Either the whiteline stuff or I'm seeing references to $35 arms on Amazon that I can't find either.
