So I just ordered bushings for the REAR lower control arms on my 2001 4runner. Dealership said they had them but not in stock. They would not give me a part number nor could I find the part number on any of the dealership web sites. I asked if they were genuine Toyota parts and they said yes but I'm fearing I just paid 30 dollars each for 15 dollar febest bushings or some other generic bushing. Any thoughts to calm my nerves? Has anyone bought these bushings from the dealership?

I called another dealership and they gave me a part # of 48702-35070 and told me they are very difficult bushings to get. Toyota not producing anymore and limited stock out there.
They said if the bushings come in a bag with the Toyota part numbers on them they are genuine but if they are in a small white box they are generic.

over the many years parts on vehicles 10 plus years old can be a problem if you want OEM spec... also rubber parts made 10 years ago will not last very long and Toyota will not make parts for vehicles that old because they have no interest in helping owners keep them longer...
most all manufacturers do this ..GM does I know that very well..
I would return those bushings and get the aftermarket ones ...
I use a silicone spray on the bushings keeps them in good condition .. never had to replace a bushing.. I have vehicles now original owner 20 plus yrs old ..

The dealer is not going to get you aftermarket parts. If they look them up they're being ordered from their warehouse. Only time you will get aftermarket parts is if you ask them, and even then it only is going to happen if you work there.
You're fine, wait for the parts to get ordered and install them.

I was happy with the Febest bushings for the lower arms and their complete uppers I bought on Amazon a few years ago.

You were correct, I talked to the dealer and they told me when you order from a dealer you only get oem parts unless you ask for aftermarket. The parts came OEM Toyota. I've seen too many videos of aftermarket parts that were as sloppy as the worn parts, especially bushings. I used to be a big fan of aftermarket, not anymore.

Not everything Toyota is the best. I don't think I'd ever replace the LCA bushings ever with Toyota OEM. Whitelines are a massive improvement in just about every way.
I also bought a super generic blower fan from Amazon. I live in AZ. it's been blowing on high for 2 years now. Not even a hiccup. Keeps the air flowing just fine to the nut cooling vent.
The doorman gas cap is waaaay over designed and more solid than the Toyota one...and has a pressure release button for shyts n' giggles.
Things as listed are exempt: ITRE, OTRE, LBJ.

All my poly lca and uca bushings are super loud and all grease washed out. Oems don't need grease and never make a sound.

The OEM rubber ones don't have the range of movement the poly offer unless you tear them. Im not sure if you have the Whitelines but they are designed to hold the grease in.

How long have you been running the Whiteline? More than one member has had issues with them getting squeaky. Like, bad. I had them and liked them too, but I only had them for 8k miles. Toyota LCA bushings might not offer as much un-restricted travel, but they are great bushings.
