Rear Main Seal - Leak

2014 SR5 4x4 with <47K miles on it.
Motor is stock, used Mobil1 at every oil change interval.
Thought it was my Fumoto drain plug leaking or my oil pan gasket but I was wrong. I pulled the skid plates , cleaned off all the old dirty oil with degreaser , dried everything off and it looks like it's my rear main seal.

This is lame, only 47K miles and already a major repair that I thought I wouldn't have to deal with till about 200K miles.

So how often have you guys heard of this happening? Anyone know if I'd be covered under warranty? If not what's the "out of pocket" cost if I have to pay.

Anyone know of a good mechanic that could do this in the San Diego area?

Look at your warranty and or extended warranty and educate yourself. Then go to your dealer and see what they say. Also see how much time you have left. If you have time, drive it for a while to determine how big and fast it's leaking. It may not be worth fixing and could go that 200K miles with no more than monitoring. That's what I'd do.
