I've also been casually interested in the RMT for my 4runner....I saved your diagrams and was going to look at/save the pdf list and found pdf-archive.com seems to be infected with malware. Would you mind just posting the list in this thread?

What kind of fitting end is needed for the scavenge pump, I believe it comes with a barbed adapter, but should I be able to unscrew this and get an AN to NPT adapter right off of my line into it? I think I might go 4an feed, and 6an drain.

Yep, that is pretty much exactly what I used for the lines going in and out of the pump!

It would be a lot cheaper to run the whole system as 6an(3/8"), would I have any issues, or would I just have to put more oil in the system?

Also, should I stick with the original 2.5" exhaust into the turbo? Some of the pictures appear to run a larger diameter. I will run a 3" out the back, but I am just wondering about the other end. Also, anyone know if plumbing the whole oil line with 3/8" (6an) would be alright?

I used 2.5" exhaust in and out. I see no problem using 6an for all of it. Use an oil restrictor on the turbo.

Funny how many blown $2k turbos ive seen from over oiling. Make sure you get that right!

Wait, so you're saying that I shouldn't pour oil in the compressor before I install it? I thought you pre-oil it like an oil filter....lol
I feel like there needs to be more discussion about what specific turbo to run. Boost is not the biggest consideration but how much airflow will be generated at a given pressure. How many CFM does the factory supercharger push at ~7psi? You should be looking for a turbo that will flow similar to this at ~0.5 pressure ratio from a compressor map. The amount of air flowed from a turbo out of a TDi golf versus a GT4088r at 7psi will be enormously different. Just my .02.

This is the same one 2 or 3 other people are using, with almost an identical set up, and running under 7psi. That's why I am using this turbo, because it is the exact one others are running. Thanks for the insight, I am thankful people are willing to share their knowledge with a clueless teenager like me.
Fair enough, I'm just wondering if they picked that particular turbo because it matched the factory SC setup or just because it was cheap...

I can't personally speak for them, but I know at least Yoterman and Clownmeat are professionals at what they do, so I'm sure there was a little more thought put into it than what I am doing. All I know is that if it works, it's fine by me.

No madder how pro they are or how much they researched.. Anyone running China knock off turbos didnt research enough.

I can do years of research, I am 100% well aware of the flaws of these turbos, but if I can't afford a name brand turbo, and want to do something like this, it is my decision, it doesn't mean I did not research enough. For my application, I BELIEVE this will be ok, it may blow, but it's all a learning experience, I can drop a $3000 turbo in, and I could still **** something up. It is all a matter of preference, price range, and abilities. It takes 10 seconds to find all of the negatives of an eBay turbo, but there are also thousands of people, including a few that ACTUALLY run them on 4Runners that have had success, and they last years. Thank you for your 2 cents but it does not really apply to me, I have researched HOURS on this, and talked to numerous people that have had success with this. I do not know your experience, or how much you have researched this, but maybe if you researched more, and really delved into this set up, then maybe you would see that if set up correctly, it can be a reliable set up.
