Rear Passenger sea sickness due to highway bouncing?

I had this feeling happen in a Yukon, and wife and kids felt a little sick after sitting in the back of the 4runner Limited I have after a 30 minute drive on the highway..
I noticed its a bit bouncy back there compared to the front.
with 54000 miles, I would expect the suspension to be due for a upgrade.
But if I were to get rid of the XREAS, as I wouldnt fix it, will 5100's alone be enough to stiffen the ride a bit to not be so bouncy.

Motion sickness in cars is usually the result of suspension cycling at a vertical frequency that's slightly below 0.1 Hz to slightly above 0.5 Hz. So slow speed shock damping is a mismatch with the springs and the vehicle and roadway. Firmer low speed damping should fix it for most people.

Sometimes it's just a section of road with bumps at the wrong interval mixed with the wheel base to induce motion sickness as well. So it could just be the road.

5100 shocks are firm. I think they'd fix the problem.
But it may also ride more harshly. 5100s are kinda the other extreme on low speed compression. It might be just what your looking for though.

This is a pretty deep explanation. The above being said, the frequency is a harmonic combination of spring stiffness, velocity etc. Changing the speed of the vehicle can change the frequencies above. Or alternatively, air bags in the back springs can change the flexibility which can also change the frequency.
 
I will definitely lower the tire pressure.
I have read many a threads of the Limited shocks not lasting that long.
If they are bad, ie leaking, than I will probably get a new set of shocks and springs that are matched to work with this truck, mostly on street driving.
Now, My Grand Baby was fine, but she crashes as soon as vehicle departs, lol.
 
I typically do not get motion sick when I drive but I do know I have ridden in quite a few 4Runners without KDSS and they have always made me queasy when the passenger and when it has KDSS I am less apt to get green around the gills. I can also say after upgrading my suspension to Bilstein 6112's and 5100's that the ride is way better than it ever was factory (KDSS on mine also). People have said this is a firmer riding suspension but honestly it doesn't register as harsh to me although it is way more responsive in how it handles across the board. Not once since it was installed have I thought "man this suspension rides like a truck" but perhaps I have been driving body on frame for too long now.

Do you have 6112s up front 5100s in rear?
 
Yessir, sure do! I am dialed all the way up also at 3" front and running 2" rear ICON coils. Everyone kept telling me it would ride like ISH at 3" but it does not. I feel like people that say this must be riding in caddys lol.

. I have the Bilstein shock and they do give a much firmer ride. On the plus side my 4Runner handles more like a sports car than a SUV. I’ve heard King shocks are adjustable. You may want to consider that route.

Motion sickness is due to the brain/inner ear not being connected to the motion. You never get motion sickness while actually driving because you are connected to that which is causing the motion. Similarly on the ocean, I make the sea sick person drive the boat. No time to get sea sick when you are fighting the seas.

People sitting in the back seat aren’t watching the road and are more susceptible to getting motion sickness.

When we drove Submarines on the surface, people driving did get sick.
Some say its because you cant see what is happening too.
