Rear rubbing fix??

I have the ToyTec Ultimate lift on my 2004. I also have 255/85R16 Cooper ST on it with Spider Trax. Lets just say I "Unintentionally" completely flexed the truck (fact that only two opposite tires were touching) and the rear rubbed BAD. Any ideas on how to help this? Spacer lift? I have been looking on here for a couple of hours but could not find an answer. So. Spacers? Different arms for the rear? What will help? I have removed the mud flaps and modified them already. Thank you.

It is rubbing on both side of the wheel well. The bolts that held the mud flaps on in the rear of the wheel well and also the front on the.....plastic skirting (I forget the official name) that are on the sides of the truck.

Haha. Smaller tires arent an option. There have to be lots of people out there running the same diameter tires.

Unintentional because I was going to go into a ditch and just crawl in it. It was a rather steep one. I must have went at just the right angle cause i felt it teater totter a bit. it bounced back and forth a couple of time before I crept forward enough then it slammed down pretty hard. haha. WISH I could of had a pic of it to post!

I still wonder if a body lift would help out much? 1.5" would get the body higher and away from the tire a bit.

What wheels do you have on?

If the tires are rubbing on the front and rear sides of the wheel opening, you have a few options.

Smaller tires.
Trim the openings.
Remove the wheel spacers.
Extend the bumpstops.
Live with the rubbing.
Let it rub till it clearances itself.
Maybe a bodylift might help.

Now if you can flex the rig out to the point that a tire rubs and take a picture so we can see what exactly you are talking about, that would help.

Well with that diameter and at full stuffage you are getting rub; not suprized. So I would suggest 2 things.

1- extend the bump stops to limit the travel so it doesn't hit again.
2- try a body lift and trim everything

If it was me I would try the extended bump stops first.

The down sides of each
*Smaller tires. -obvious
*Trim the openings. - possible bodywork and paint needed
*Remove the wheel spacers. - narrower stance
*Extend the bumpstops. - reduced wheel travel and also can increase tippyness due to the lack of compression
*Live with the rubbing. - Can wear down the tires and or damage the body parts and trim.
*Let it rub till it clearances itself. - Same as living with the rubbing
*Maybe a bodylift might help. - May reduce the rubbing by moving the body away from the tires. The same way extended bumpstops would limit stuffing without limiting travel.

The bodylift is probably the best option.

Good commets Gerdo. Thanks. I will give the lift a shot then. Thank you again. I will drop you a note when I come down that way next and maybe a roadtrip up into the mountains?
