Rear Sag With Level Kit

Hey All,

Not long ago I installed a Daystar 2.5" level kit all around, not just the front... I've noticed that it appears as though the rear is sagging or looks to be lower, enough to bother me. I did use the OEM rear shocks, so i'm wondering if I need longer shocks to accommodate for the lift? I remember when I was re-installing the shocks I was barely able to jack up each side to get the bolt back in for each shock.

Would some bilstein shocks remedy this?

wait til the suspension settles, and if you are still unhappy:

either install airbags or install stiffer springs, and since you are now contemplating an actual proper lift, it doesn't hurt to upgrade your shocks.

I installed the kit 2-3 weeks ago.
 
I just measured my stock Ltd. and there's a 2" rake, so if you're kit raised front and rear by 2.5", you'd need things to sag 2+" for the rear to be even with, or lower than the front. Can you link to the kit you used?

his rear is sagging after he added the spacers.

Op: you may want to either post pics of how you installed the spacers or have someone look at it.

If his shocks are too short they could be limiting the height of the rear suspension. I'd try unbolting the lower shock mount and see if the rear pops up taller for a quick test.

not a bad idea on the test, but if he's running OEM shocks, I"m more interested on how he installed those spacers.

Install wasn’t difficult, I followed the manufacture instructions and watched the videos. It’s really hard to install them wrong. I’ll try and post a picture. Maybe it’s just my mind playing tricks on me.

I had the trunk fully loaded this weekend, just got back from a camping trip. The picture above is fully empty. I guess I could try the posted advise earlier and d/c the shocks to see if they are applying pressure to the springs? The picture here makes it look normal so I guess i'm wondering if upgraded shocks for the rear will have any impact on height.

This is why I think the whole "Leveling craze" is silly. Don't you all carry things in your rigs? My truck would sit level when fully loaded but i would slam my rear bumper on rocks because the suspension was so soft. Just moved up to a stiffer spring that gave me additional clearance and stiffness that I needed.

Yup or be like me....drove around with a saggy butt...until I airbag the rear
 
When i put the Kings in our 17 SR5 i mentioned the saggy butt to the wife...............thats when the fight started.
