Rear spring question

I realize the rear spring topic has been beat to death but I've been looking for an answer to my question for hours and I can't find it. Hoping someone could answer it for me quick.

I need to replace my rear springs as the rear end sags. Here is where it gets complicated: my rear shocks are nearly new and I'm on a strict budget at the moment and really, really don't want to replace them if I don't have to. I also have drawers back there that probably weigh around 100 pounds loaded. Whatever I decide, I will also be installing air bags as a dirtbike carrier occasionally gets used.

So.... can anyone tell me if there is a good solution to this problem? I'm looking for the tallest rear springs I can run without installing longer shocks.

your right,,,this topic gets beat to death...including several active threads today on springs and shocks including one maybe even two on a dirt bike on the back... both still active today...one with dirt bike started just last week..I know as im part of those threads...look and you will see.

And in each one of those threads, the shocks are replaced as well. I've read them. And I've read many like them.

I didn't want to start this thread, but I did because I am not finding the answers that I'm looking for.
 
beg to differ...a very very recent thread.still active..like last week....even yesterday with his results... on here about a guy putting his 650 on a carrier and not wanting to replace shocks....he went air bags i think... did not change anything...same shocks...same springs.
I could be wrong... then for now just throw some air bags on it or some lift blocks on the springs and call it good for a while

but here...like I said...updated yesterday...To much sag with dirtbike carrier?

I read that thread.

His situation is different from mine as I will be replacing the springs.

I swear I have searched for the answer to my question but I just can't find it. That is the only reason I started the thread.

ok..I will back off and not be such a mouth. I will be lifting mine more than my current 99 talls and kyb's soon so ( to take weight) trying to learn all I can. guess I misunderstood your situation and I apologize for being a butt head

Yes, the KYB's are stock length. The 906's raise the truck 2" relative to the axle, so you basically move the neutral position of the shocks by 2". So you'll have more "down" travel and less "up" travel than with stock springs. In other words, you have more travel before bottoming out, and less travel before full droop. I haven't had an occasion to max out on either end, so for my use that's not an issue.

I think I'll order the 906's and move on.
