So I’ve been rocking OME 890s for a while now and I’ve determined that they just can’t handle the weight I throw at them. Over the past couple years they have sagged and I’m basically back to being stock height and loaded up I’m doing the Carolina squat.
My set up is as follows: all weights are approximate
Regular driving: ~330lbs
RTT: 120lbs
Platform:70lbs
Roof rack:20lbs
Dual battery: 70lbs (in back of vehicle)
Back fold out hitch rack:50lbs
Now when I’m camping add about another 150lbs to the back of the car on top of 5 gallons of water on my back fold out rack and about 150-200lbs of firewood also on the back rack.
Fully loaded: ~6-700 lbs
I have stock bumpers and no lift. Just E rated 255/85s
Can anyone recommend a spring that will give me about 3-3.5 inches lift with my regular driving weight and not totally squat when I’m fully loaded. I’d like to stay around 2-2.5 inches of lift fully loaded.
I’ve looked at toytec and they seem to be the way to go but I’ve heard good things about dobinsons as well as other springs from other Toyotas.
Any recommendations besides the toytecs or are those my best bet?
Below is a photo of how I sat fully loaded with everything mentioned. I should also mention the front end was lifted up probably about 1.5 inches by all the rear weight
