Rear Springs with 5100 Shocks?

I just ordered a complete set of Bilstein 5100 shocks for my 2003 4runner & was wondering what rear springs I should get? I dont want to spend over $200. I will mainly be highway driving & occassionally offroading for hunting/fishing, maybe light towing in the future.

Also I want to have my 4runner leveled out & give it a little bit more aggressive profile. I have 265/70 tires on there now. I was thinking of putting the adjustable shocks @ 1.75" in front & none in rear. Can I see some of your 4runners & the amount of lift you put on your Bilstein 5100s?

REad through the lift central thread - youll see lots of pictures. Each 4r is slightly different for a variety of reasons so 1.75 on one may look different than another.

Id recommend continuing with a slight rake - consider the 1.25 perch -if youre towing or put weight in the rear you wont be dragging in the rear.

Consider getting someones 5th gen take off springs for cheap / free - this will provide about a 1 inch lift and very slightly stiffer rating. I did this until I started adding aftermarket bumper and other heavier parts to the truck

theres a guy here selling them, but brand new off amazon was around 200ish.

the guy here listed for 5th gen, but they all fit the 4th gen as well.

I'll try to gat a pic of mine for you, but I have 5100's set at 1.75. I have a 1.5" daystar spacer on the rear springs (IIRC) and I used FJ cruiser springs. They are a tiny bit taller I think. I put 265/70/17 AT tires. Rides totally fine. I kept the factory rake.

I really should get new upper A arms, however, to get back my factory caster setting. My local shop can get it at around 2 degrees, and I notice that it's touchy on the highway. It's not bad, and my wife hasn't complained (that's how I confirm it's not bad) when she drives it. I think you'll find the same thing, but there are plenty of people who report no issues at 1.75. The other thing is I have a set of new lower A arms, so some uppers would allow me to refresh all my ball joints, bushings, etc. Then again, I'm at 278k on the original ball joins and they are nice and tight. I'm paranoid and I'm always expecting both shoes to drop at once and have a front end rebuild to do on my DD (with long work commute, kids to and rom school, etc.). So far the T4R has been super... (the alignment guy at my shop says toyota ball joints last "forever.")

I know several people have posted threads about their lifts and they've had lots of wheel well measurement comparisons. I'm totally guessing that you'll prolly get a couple (3?) inches of clearance between the top of the tire and the wheel well. I'd guess there's certainly room for a larger size, 33 pretty easy. But, Most tend to put wider tires and then there will be rubbing. I didn't want to mess with that. It would definitely look better with a bit wider stance.

I had a rough country 2” spacer lift with bilstein 5100s on stock springs.. it was just enough for 33s but I wanted a little more so I switched out my springs.. I went with Toytec Superflex RCC2.0-P for the rear and Dobinisons C59-314B for the front. I wound up getting about 2” more front and back. Here’s some before and after pics:

Can you talk to me a little bit more about this? I was looking at grabbing 5100 for the front and I could a local person selling rough country rear taco struts.
