Rear suspension lift...already got add-a leaf

So I'm looking into lifting my ride. Gonna go with a 1.5" BJ spacer in the front but want a good option for the rear. I already have an add-a-leaf but don't want to stiffen it up any more. How would a shackle work instead of replacing the entire spring pack? Pictures included to show current ride height.

Increasing shackle length will soften the ride. If your ok with how it rides now then you can put lift blocks instead.

Lift blocks can be trouble. If you don't want to change your existing leaf pack, consider stuffing a coil spring between the rear bumpstops. I used a 14" 125 pound spring, and it gave me about 2 inches over stock height. I don't know for sure what you'd get with an add-a-leaf already in there.

Search yotatech for "zuk mod".

Don't add a coil if you don't wish to stiffen the ride. Add the longer shackle or a quality set of blocks. Blocks aren't the option for serious off road, but for a street / trail runner they will be fine as long as you get good ones (2-3 inch MAX).

Either option will multiply wheel hop.

The best thing to do is buy some lift springs or have your springs and add a leafs re arched.

Bu adding an AAL, blocks or longer shackle, your just baind-aiding the springs. The best thing would be a new set.

If you can weld, chevy 63" springs are a less expensive option.

i used 96-98 4 runner rear coil springs in between the rear upper and lower bump stops. it gave it a nice 3 maybe 4 inch lift from where it was sagging at. so if i had no sag, maybe only 2-3 inch of lift. i have 1.5 bj spacers up front and the rear is still a hair taller but i figure if i load up with gear with would even back down.

oh if you do this mod aka Zuk Mod. get rid of the aal. they will cause issues with flex
