Rear suspension recall- how do I go about seeing if it has been done to my vehicle?

I recently bought a '97 SR5 4x4, and I have no idea if the recall has been done. Can someone give me guidance how I can find out if it has ever been done? Will the dealership honor the recall even though I am not the original owner, and the 4-runner is old? Thanks guys!

Call the dealer and give them the VIN. If it's a recall they generally will do it at any time, and they will have the record of all recalls done on their computer (if it was done by any Toyota dealer).

Any recall will be honored regardless of ownership. Rear springs are the only recall that may be involved with your 97. There is a sticky that talks about the "rear sag" recall. You can check with dealer to be sure work has been done.
