Rear Sway Bar Link Angle after 2” coils.

Installed new 2” lift OME rear springs, new sway bar bushings, and new sway bar links. After the lift, I noticed the lower portion of the sway bar links are at an extreme angle.

Do I need to loosen the nut so it drops down further?

Did you install extended sway bar links? If so, are they adjustable?

I added the links made by MStudt and set them to be an inch longer to get the sway bar angle back to normal with my 2” Springs.

No extended sway bar links. I noticed that the driver's side link is fine, but the passenger side link is off...that's the one I took the pictures of.

I don't think yours looks that bad. They are meant to swivel a little bit. Loosen the nut and tap it with a rubber mallet, it might straighten up a little.

The 2nd gen 4runner links are a inch longer and work great on the 4th gen.

It seems like extended rears are a good idea since people have snapped the stock rears after a lot of flexing with a lift. I did notice a slight ride improvement after putting on extended front and rear links. Not a huge difference, but made it feel like a worthwhile mod that should prevent broken links on the trail.

The angle you should be looking at is how flat the sway bar is to the ground, that joint has nothing to do with that. I don't see how that joint angle matters.

Ah, I didn’t know this. I’ll check it out today And if it’s not parallel with the ground I may need the extended versions.

yeah you could grab onto that sway link and move it whatever angle you wanted, it has that degree of freedom but will settle where it wants and there's not much you can do about it. Extended end links would be recommended for a rear lift. You want the sway bar and lower link to be about parallel at ride height.

I have the Skyjacker, just had to drill out the bar end to 13mm to fit the new bolt.
