check your window lock button on the drivers door. if thats activated the window will not roll down(except from outside with the key)

either the switchor the lock is on. if you applied power to it and it worked, it means the switch isnt connecting

if he applies power to the directly motor then he has bypassed the window lock button. the window lock button just simple removes the ground from the switch. ill be the switch is good, and the window lock is on. i had this issue a couple of years ago, and it took me weeks and weeks to figure it out(i figured it out on accident after i had given up)

I would do a multimeter test on all locations of that wire. I would either assume the window lock is on, on your driver door; or your switch isn't working properly/at all for that matter.
But since your motor is working, thats a good thing. They would be more expensive than any other component in that system...like a fuse.

Good luck!

Another vote for window lock button! Just to be safe I'd replace everything in the system and then try the button though :p

Hey guys just to make sure you guys talking about the master window lock button? I have tried playing that idea but still nothing works fine for all other windows! And nothing for rear hatch window:wtf: Also when I press the button on my dash the fuel gauge and some other things go up! And makes that ding ding sound lol Talked to the previous owner he said it always did that it was normal! So like I said the dash switch nothing but key fog goes down but no way back up unless direct power the motor! Also my defroster works but wiper won't work either can this be all link? What about if I manually open the rear hatch through lock cylinder if I can get it moving again pretty lock due to no use of it always key fob! Could it maybe be relay? Should I get new master window switch? Or rear window dash switch! Thank guys for all the help

It sounds like a bird got into your ECU wires and made a nest! What the hell?!
Press the window button and your hood unlatches, rear passenger window opens, car starts, and the truck honks 3 times. That seems like a nightmare!

its so nice when 8 posts into this the OP decides to give us the whole story and make some of us look like F'ing morons... heres to you OP:flipoff::hatsoff:

next time give us the whole situation up front. sounds to me like you have some crossed/shorted wires somewhere... do you have an aftermarket radio, or has there ever been on in the truck? is their any electronic device in the truck that did not come from the factory? it could also be just a bad switch but i highly doubt that being as so many other things are being affected

I wouldn't even know where to start on that truck! Holy crap! Give us some more feedback. We need more.
Can you post a video of this phenomenon? If I can't help you, I can at least get a laugh.

Hey guys sorry if I made any one upset! Jesse its just a forum lol Owell!!

So any note I messed around it today motor works down with the key fob option and I hear the power window relay click so seems those two are alright. But now nothing from the window switch itself on the dash!! It doesn't do nothing at all like if was never there! So makes me believe it might be the switch itself just **** the bed! I checked around for loose wire nothing too deep and checked all the fuses no help at all! I made sure the master window lock button was off still nothing! Any ideas? Thanks

open central ground... in other words find the common ground for each of those systems that act weird.

how does the wiring run to the rear lift gate? Is it through a boot? you could have split wires through there.

Same Problem

I am having a very similar problem. My rear defroster works, but not my back wiper or the switch to the back window. The back window will roll up and down with the key, but it will not roll up or down using the switch at the center consol. I think it must be something with the connection between the switch/wiper knob and the hatch. My window lock is not on, my fuses are good, and "normalizing" the system by wiggling the wiper and rolling the window all the way up and down did not work. I think the previous owner messed with wiring to insital sub woofers... they also glued the arm of the back wiper blade onto the car because they said it was rattling. what a dumb****. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Sorry if comes out stupid how would I check it? With a voltage meter?

Check continuity over the terminals. You should get continuity when the switch is in one position, and no continuity when the switch is in the other position.

I have a very similar problem. My wiper works but doesn't even come close to touching the window, a previous owner already bent the crap out of it. My window goes up and down with the key but only up with the switch. I checked the down side of the switch and it was good. I have read something about the window relay thinking the wiper is against the window, not in its holder on the back, which prevents the window from going down. I have yet to figure out how to fix this though. I just make sure to put the window down with the key before I drive anywhere and then I can put it up from inside at anytime. See if your switch will work for going up. Its not a fix but its better than not using the window.

Thanks for the response! I posted an entire thread explaining my issue and what I have tried, but no one has responded. I tried what you suggested, and the switch does not work for bringing the window up. It is like there is no connection between the car and the hatch...
