Do the rear view mirrors for the 1997 have day/night settings?

I think it's an auto dimming rear view mirror. The one on my limited is all blacked out though.

Does anyone know if there was a more base model mirror (no electronics) that will mount in place of the Limited style?

EDIT UPDATE: Looks like you can buy the map light assembly with a non-auto dimming mirror that will work.

Yeah, Mine is blacked out too. Malfunctioning autodim. OK now I know. I'll check into the map light assembly with a non-auto dimming mirror.

I'm going to try and disconnect or snip the wires on mine and see if it improves, or if it has just had an internal failure. If it is auto-dimming, and I cut power it seems like it should return to normal.

Didn't know they made 4runners with factory auto dim mirror. I just bought a used mirror and installed it. Has a compas and temperature
