Rear View Mirror Lights - On with Door ?

I did. But I purchased a new mirror and light assembly from either a Tacoma or 2nd gen 4runner. I don't remember. I found one on eBay for like 20 bucks. And it had a door light switch incorporated in it already. So it was a simple as adding one wire from the center dome light to the front lights.

Thanks for the reply.
I ordered LED bulbs for the dome lights and that may provide enough light for the front seats - we'll see once they arrive and I get them installed. I'm trying to get some more light for the front seat area - not just the floor. I keep leaving stuff in my center console and on my seats - like my glasses case, phone etc. Hell maybe I'm just getting old...:shrug:

What kind of LED's did you use? I recommend something like these that i bought

They light up the front pretty good.. and when paired with my center dome light that i used this in

These provided only slightly more light than a stock 13 year old bulb...

): yea man, 2 small panels aren't strong enough. I'll take a few pictures tonight of my lights. The ones i linked you to were the exact ones i purchased. I have so far put them into my family's 95 and 99 camry, my 2000 4runner, my dads 2012 runner, and similar 194 led's for the 2004 sienna. You'll probably be content with the 2x2 oznium panel, but the price/light ouput of the 48 LED panel that uses the 5050SMD (one of the brightest) probably blows it out of the water.
How did you pull a wire from the center dome light to the front. Sunroof is in between.

Uh...not everyone is lucky enough to have a sunroof. And even if so you could go around the sunroof. But I don't know about switching the whole mirror assembly as how i did because of the sunroof controls.

Thanks for the tip on this. I only ordered 1 and put it in the dome light and it lights up the front seats and front foot wells too, as you said it would. Great light and I will be ordering one for the rear cargo area today.

i've got one in the cargo area as well and it's great to have, especially when camping.
i've been trying to figure out how to get one or two mounted on the inside of the door so
i can light up the surrounding area when the hatch is up.
