Rear wheel flare/trim

Can anyone tell me if the rear wheel flare/trim is different from the 03-05 and 06-09? Mine had an unfortunate encounter with a stop sign post at the end of a trail last month and I've been looking for a replacement. I finally found one on eBay in the right color, but it says 03-05 and the actual OEM painted piece I found from a dealership says 06-09 only. There's a 40 dollar difference between the two and I wouldn't mind saving a few bucks if they are pretty much the same.

Look at pics online between the two. Easy to spot the difference.

03-05 have flat wheel well flares
06+ have rounded wheel well flares

That's what I needed to know. Guess I'll keep an eye open on eBay, although this dealership I stumbled across seems to be the cheapest OEM and already painted that I've found. I need the 06+

Additionally you need '03~'05 "painted" fenders that went on Limited Trim level for '03, or regular fenders for '04~'05 that were on all trim levels.

IIRC the SR5 & Sport Edition Trims in '03 had "Unpainted" Grey panels that were slightly different than the "Painted" units.

I really wanted a scratched up used one but got tired of looking. Ending up with an already painted piece from a localish dealer for 160 shipped. Got a trip planned next weekend which should help scratch it up and make it dirty enough to blend in, haha.

They send you a painted one? Interesting... usually most components like that are shipped from the factory non-painted; that's a great deal if whoever they contracted the paintjob to did a good job. :D

Says it's painted, we'll see, haha. I would have just as well taken a non painted one and primered it. That side has taken a beating from the bushes the last 3 trips out which is why I really didn't want to buy a new one.

Looks like factory paint. Perfectly matched. Soon to be the only non scratched piece on my entire rig.

Galactic Gray Mica? I just bought an '06 sport that's missing the same piece! The ebays and online parts I found only came in Shadow Mica 1F4, GGM is 1E9. The ebay seller said he could do that, but I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for Craigslist part outs for a little while

When you say "local-ish" dealer, where'd you find it? Was it a one-off or do they stock them? I'm in OC as well.

Yessir, Galactic Grey Mica. I found it via eBay by searching for the code that I found on another website. Puente Hills Toyota had it.

Toyota 7565335100B1 Genuine Wheel Flare | eBay

found it on partznet.com for $146 shipped! have you installed yours yet? if not, do you mind taking some photos of the install process? and what clips or other pieces you needed for the install? thanks!

WHEEL FLARE, RIGHT for 2006 Toyota 4Runner|75653-35100-B1

I haven't installed yet, probably this weekend. Of the 4 clips that didn't rip out, I think only 3 are usable and then there's the two screws on the bottom. Appears that you have to at least partially pull the bumper to get to one of them, but we'll see when I get to it. Might swing by my dealer and see if I can get new clips.

grave I ended up having to order both the blue and orange clips, so if you need some, I have spares (I know you're somewhere in OC). Pretty simple install. There are two screws that hold the flare in place. One in the wheel well, one hidden by the bumper. IF you want to get to the one in the bumper you have to pull two screws from the front of the bumper and then there are 3 clip spots that hold it on the side. Careful on pulling the bumper away, I snapped one, but the other 2 are holding it in place along with the screws. When I installed the flare I didn't both with the screw hidden by the bumper. 5 clips and 1 screw should hold it in place just fine.
