Rear window bind!

In my 98' 4runner, the tailgate window will not roll up. It mysteriously lowered (i assume by itself b/c nobody remembers lowering it) and will not come back up.
Any troubleshooting hints?

This hasn't happened on my 4R yet but this did happen on an Saab I used to have. If no one rolled it down, the window probably came off the rollers and is just sitting in the tailgate.

The only option I know is to take it to the stealership and have them fix it.
