Rear Window Uneven

Hello members,

This is my first post here and I come in need of help! My rear window is uneven at the top, meaning that there is a slight gap on the left side because the right side is raised higher. I understand that 4runners have issues with back windows so this might be a common issue. Anyone know how to fix this?

I opened the rear panel up, and the arm connected to the gear which moves the windows up and down is definitely lower on the left hand side, but besides that I have no clue what is wrong or what to do. Any help is appreciated.:confused::confused:

It looks as though the tension spring on the driver's side arm has come unhooked. The bent part at the end should be wrapped around and hooked on the tab to the left.

Looking at it, my guess would be that someone loosened up that assembly (there's a bolt missing on the bottom right), which allowed it to bounce around enough that the spring and gears slipped.

I believe you'll have to take that assembly off (remove the other three bolts, and then disconnect it from the window) and pull it apart to realign those gears then reattach the spring. Probably easier to do with the door up, so that it's not supporting the weight of the window. Seems pretty straightforward otherwise.
