Rear window washer

My '90's rear washer does not work. Wiper works just fine, but I can't get any squirtage.

How do I get to the lines for the rear washer? Does it have a seperate reservoir or does it run off the under hood tank? Can I access the nozzle and lines by taking down the headliner?

Thanks in advance!

The lines are not in the headliner until it reaches the rear. It runs along the floor by the door sills on the passenger side. You can see it if you pull off the kick panel up front on the p/s. It runs off the same reservoir up under the hood, but there are individual pumps for front and rear washers.
Assuming you have already checked to make sure you have washer fluid, unplug the connector for the rear washer and use a test light on it when you turn on the rear washer. A lot of the time the pump motor has stuck and just needs a slight tap while trying to use it to free it up. Good luck!

Sorry to pull up an old post. Does this apply to the first gen runners as well?

Thanks.

On 1st gens the rear washer resevoir is in the back corner by the tailgate, drivers side.
It's a vinyl bag with the pump built-in it.

Thanks for the help. I'm new to forums in general, this forum, and classic 4Runners. Just picked up an '88 3VZE SR5 with < 80 orig miles. A little rot behind the crome moldings on the wheel well, but otherwise a solid body/frame. It's needed a few things repaired, and this site has been amazing in finding info. Thanks to all for the great knowledge.
