Rear window won't close (due to dent)

I accidentally backed into a electrical pole at a slow speed but made vertical dent on the back door. Later that night, i accidentally hit my key fob and the rear window went all the way down. Now, the rear window only goes 3/4 of the way up. I removed the back panel and it looks like that one side of the arm frame is bent towards the panel which is now allowing it to go up. Besides the obvious of replacing the arm frame, is there any other alternatives, such are manually forcing the window up? I have also tried forcing it by hand but no luck. Thanks in advance for any info that can be provided.

Have you tried double teaming it? One person to press the button and one at the back to encourage the window up.

You have obviously bent or twisted the track. Forcing it up won't help anything except break more stuff.

If it were mine, I would pull off the back interior panel and find a stick of wood 2" in diameter and (firewood, 2x2, 2x4 ?) about a foot long and reach in under the glass and hit the other end with a heavy hammer.

Try to get the panel back to close to original shape Looking where the glass moves in the track and try to see where it's started to bind.

Don't disconnect the track or you will never get the bolt holes to line up again until after you try to pound it back to a semblance of original shape

This is said as an "act of desperation" to enable you to make your truck secure until you get proper body work done.

That's a *****.....hate it when that happens !

I would also try to at least push out what you can from inside the gate if you can reach it. It's already banged up anyway so the aesthetics are thrown out the window at this point (pun intended)

Sorry about your dent. However, it doesn't look too bad. I would say put some time aside and open up the back hatch interior panel. You might be able to push the dent out from the inside. If not, there is an aluminum bar inside the hatch panel that acts as a support strut. 4 bolts holding it in. It looks like you hit the hatch right on top of the strut on that side, pushing it into the window's retraction path. If you get in there and remove it or find something else and clear the path, it may still work.

the tracks are mounted into the inside frame so the tracks should be OK. Roll the window fully down and check inside the door. You will see whats stopping it.

As others said, unbolt it, leave the window open till you get the new parts.
When mine failed from rust, it was raining!
I unbolted it and jammed a 2x4 to keep the window up until the parts arrived.

that sucks man you dent it at the worse spot, thats where the track sits. my dent was way way worse and mine goes up and down no problem.
