Scratches
I`ve had scatches on my `88 rear window and I polised them out with compounds. I have a rear window defrost so I didn`t attempt to do the inside. It depends on how deep the scratches are.

SWEEEEEEEETTTTTTT !!!!!!
I called my toyota service department today and explained to them what I was experiencing with the rear window. They told me to bring it in and they woudl look at it. I didn't think much of it but I brought it in anyway expecting them to tell me it was my problem.
The service manager came out, took a brief look at it, asked me if I had parked near any trees, and then proceeded to tell me he would replace the rear window FOR FREE (one time only offer) !!!! I setup the appointment immediately. My service department ROCKS !!!!!

The scratches came from dirt build up in the weather stripping. It was underneath the top layer of rubber. The window going up and down rubbed against the dirt. I`ve since replaced the rubber and the scratches have been reduced. I also keep the truck much cleaner now, especially on the rear. I don`t have a rear wind deflector and I think that this would help even more.
