Rear Wiper Problem

I just replaced my entire rear wiper arm (my old one was ripped of by a garage door). I was going to post instructions for how to replace it, but it was so simple that I did not think it would benefit anyone.

Then I tried using it. It goes just fine, but the blade is not pressing hard enough against the window or is at the wrong angle. It leaves a lot of water behind in certain parts of the window. Everything from the grommet back is brand new (numbers 1 through 4 on the diagram).

Any Ideas?

pull the actual wiper a bit out, i mean the wiper thats under the wiper arm outside plastic (essentially part 1). it could be a little tight. my dad's wasn't fully contacting the rear windshield either, and just a little tug on that, and now it works great. i hope you get what i mean by the way i described it, not sure if it was clear enough. but i think if you take a look at it, you could figure it out. hope this helps and it works..

On my 04 Limited is not wiping correctly. The blade seems to come off the window in the middle of the stroke at both to top and bottom of the window. As a result the pattern it leaves is not uniform as it should be. This is the second blade the truck has had too, both Toyota blades. Any thoughts?

Do you mean that it like "jumps" off the window in the middle of it wiping?

if so, that's kindof wierd..

Not jumps off the window. It is like the top inch and bottom half inch do not touch the window on every stroke, but only in the middle of the storke, for most of it they do but in the middle of the storke, where the blade is verticle, they do not. Instead of a smooth, even arch the middle of the arch is narrower then the edges.
