reasonable cost for break pads replacement?

While this maybe true that aftermarket rotors will warp after a while, at 1/4 the price or more of OEM I will still be getting the afore mentioned rotors and pads kit for my 4 Runner to have on hand.

I also will be keeping the OEM rotors for future use.

I probably was not as clear as I meant - my point was that you could resurface the OEM rotors and avoid buying either new OEM or after market.

Yes I understood your point, but since I do all my own mechanical work that I have the proper tools for doing the job correctly, if I get the aftermarket set I have parts on hand to put my truck back in running order, if I just get the OEM rotors on my truck resurfaced I wouldn't have a way to get the rotors to the shop I use to do the resurfacing, the cost of the after market set is more than worth the time I would spend and the time of a friend to take me to get the OEM rotors resurfaced, to me that's a win, win.

Thanks guys for the help and especially Beaumont67 for such detailed info!

Was able to get a dealer to do just the pads (TRD ones ordered a week ago from trdparts4u) for $150 which seems to be within reason, might not get a chance any time soon to 'bed in' though as the highways here are so crowded day and night:(

Will definitely start looking for reputable independent shops, already have one on mind (TLS auto service):)
