Rebuild pinion bearing a diy?

So local shop says I need to have the pinion bearing rebuilt. I am pretty DIY but timing belt was too big of a job. How does this compare?

Thoughts on this?

anything is possible, but I would not try it if a timing belt job was too much for you. A pinion bearing rebuild includes preloading the bearing and getting it just right. Plus you'll need a press to get the new bearing on. I wouldn't recommend the freezer and acetylene torch method.
