Rebuilt engine in, now it just spins over...

Just finished re-installing my 5vz. Went to fire it and it just spins over and won't start. Code p0100 Mass Air Flow and P1300 Igniter circuit. I have no spark, and the fuel pump isn't turning on. Plus the number 1 pin for the mass air flow isn't lighting up the test light. So it's not getting a signal. My assumption would be the computer isn't seeing what it wants to allow starting. I can't see the computer just taking a crap while the truck was sitting a couple months. It drove in, just missing due to a couple of burnt valves. We rechecked the grounds, all that we saw are on the driver's side. Anyone have any info and if this problem has happened before?

Gotta be something with the wiring or the ecu. Just racking my head trying to think of what it could be. Anyone know what signal the computer needs to give it fuel and spark? My buddy is bringing home his snap on scanner so we can see a few things tonight. I would think it has to see cam and crank signal before it will allow fuel and spark, but I'm assuming...

Check all your fuses and relays. Make sure all the plugs in your ECM are plugged in and make sure any theft deterant devices (alarm or transponder key) didn't loose their programing.

All fuses are good, efi fuse is getting power as is the efi relay. Swapped relays, same condition. It has TDS, but no transponder key. It'll just tell if you open it without hitting the emote first... Don't think it can make it do this, need to locate the remote though.

Well, got it fired up last night. I had a connector that attached to the trim cover behind the glove box not fully seated to where it didn't give power to the mass air or ignitor (ignition control module). Then she fired right away.

However, bigger problems right after start up. Heard a rpm variant rattle type noise that we assumed was behind the timing cover and was just going to let it warm up first...it got louder, a lot louder. It's coming from the driver's bank, not bottom end, but not in the head/valve train since you can take the oil cap off and it doesn't change volume or pitch. I can't win. Called the shop that assembled the engine this morning and they want to see it, so I will have to get it towed up there. They're saying that if it's something they caused they will reimburse the tow bill...I don't see how it could be anything other than what they did...only thing I can think of is a wristpin or problem with the piston itself. :bash:

Same problem

Can you post a pic of the connector for me. I have been racking my ohm meter to death trying toxins why no spark. I think it's wires. About to to voltage drop test.
