Recall and cladding?

I read on the forums that there was a recall because of the whole vanity mirror missing (my sister and i were wondering why it had no mirrors....). Is that recall still in effect? can i just go over there and ask them about the recall?

Also, can i replace the cladding with something else or get it in a different color other than gray? something to match the color of the 4Runner (white)?

The cladding only came in gray. Do a search -- some folks have painted it. To replace it with the color-matched stuff used now would be very expensive.
