Recall question

I hope that this isn't to dumb a question. Does a recall ever expire. I found a recall for 2001 and 2002 4runners for the lower ball joint that can make steering difficult and can cause ball joint failure. The recall came out in 2005.

Government required recalls do not expire provided the VIN# has not been flagged- as in salvage title, reconstructed, whatever. TSB's or manufacturer issues campaigns that are often called recalls are voluntary and some do have time restrictions. The one you speak of is still valid providing it it open on your specific VIN#
