recall question

I took my '92 4runner in to the Toyota dealership a couple of days ago and had the Steering Relay Rod replaced as part of the recall. However, I'm not sure that they did it right. Before, while turning tightly, sometimes the truck would make a really loud high-pitched screeching/popping/clicking noise from somewhere in the front suspension. A friend mentioned the recall and said he had the same thing which was fixed with the relay rod replacement. Well, now that I've had mine replaced, the noise is worse. Before it happened occasionally when turning tightly, especially when going over a bump and turning. Well now it happens when just turning tightly, and with a lot more frequency. The shop said it wasn't the steering relay rod, and thought it might be the turn stop screws scraping. I did some testing today, and it only happens when turning left. I thought it might be the cv joints, but it isn't the same as bad cv joints. It definitely isn't power steering. Does anybody have any ideas about what this might be? Any help is appreciated.

Before I did anything else at all I'd get under the truck and grease both steering stops.

It sounds like that might be what it is. It's a very common complaint from those early models.

I had a 94 that made that noise, but evidently they fixed it before 95 because my current truck has never done it.

the front suspension on my 94 creaks when i turn tightly...especially when just starting from a stop...the mechanic who worked on mine when my dad had it in Utah said that it is normal...i dont know if they have always done it...but if they havent...im sure it is just because it is old...i am goin in next monday for the steering rod recall shit...not too happy knowin i could lose control of the truck while drivin 85mph down the freeway...
